APTORX Titanium Strut Tower Nuts

A purpose-designed titanium upgrade for factory Honda and Acura strut tower hardware.

Precision CNC machined from Ti-6Al-4V Grade 5 titanium and designed around Honda and Acura's M10 × 1.25 strut tower hardware, these nuts retain a near-OEM mounting footprint while incorporating a thicker flange, increased overall height, and a larger 17 mm hex.

Rather than using a generic titanium flange nut, the APTORX design was developed around the dimensions of the factory hardware. The factory nut measures approximately 26 mm in flange diameter and 10.6 mm in overall height. The APTORX design increases these dimensions to a 27 mm flange diameter and 12 mm overall height, while utilizing a thicker flange geometry and larger 17 mm hex.

The larger 17 mm hex provides increased socket engagement during installation and removal, while the more substantial flange geometry maintains a compact, OEM-inspired footprint.

Black, Gold, Blue, and Rainbow variants receive a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) finish for excellent color durability and wear resistance. During development, PVD-finished samples were repeatedly installed and removed with a socket more than 50 times without coating peel or loss of color. Normal pressure marks from tool contact may still occur and are considered normal cosmetic wear.

The Raw Titanium version retains its natural machined titanium appearance without PVD coating.

Production samples have been installed and used on multiple real-world vehicles for several months prior to public release.

Finish Options

Raw Titanium — Natural machined titanium finish with visible metallic character.

PVD Black — Clean and understated for an OEM+ appearance.

PVD Gold — Rich gold finish designed to provide contrast within the engine bay.

PVD Blue — Deep blue finish with subtle tonal variation depending on lighting and viewing angle.

PVD Rainbow — Multi-color finish featuring variations of blue, purple, green, and gold.

Slight variations in color and tone between individual PVD-finished pieces are normal. Appearance may also vary depending on lighting and viewing angle.

Installation

Titanium threaded fasteners can be susceptible to thread galling (seizing) if improperly installed. Always start each nut by hand and verify that it threads smoothly before tightening.

APTORX recommends Permatex® Nickel Anti-Seize Lubricant, which was used during development and testing.

When using Permatex Nickel Anti-Seize:
Apply a small, even amount to the threads and tighten to approximately 90% of the vehicle manufacturer's specified dry torque value.

When installing without anti-seize:
Use the vehicle manufacturer's specified dry torque value. Dry installation of titanium hardware may carry an increased risk of thread galling.

Use a properly fitting 17 mm socket and calibrated hand torque wrench for final tightening.

DO NOT USE IMPACT TOOLS. High-speed or impact installation can significantly increase the risk of thread galling and may damage the nut, stud, or surface finish.

As an additional precaution, APTORX recommends applying a torque witness mark after installation and visually checking the fasteners during the first 500 miles of use.

Recheck the fasteners with a torque wrench after approximately 500–1,000 miles of driving.

Normal socket contact or pressure marks on the PVD finish may occur during installation and are considered normal cosmetic wear.
